Freshly-Grown Coastal Food for Coastal People
WELCOME
Coastal Harvest Micro Farm
Welcome to Coastal Harvest Micro Farm — a family rooted in a lifelong love of gardening, fresh food, and community.
At Coastal Harvest Micro Farm, we believe food tastes better, nourishes better, and connects people better when it’s grown close to home. That’s why we focus on growing vibrant, spray-free greens, herbs, and vegetables for local families, chefs, restaurants, and businesses throughout the Outer Banks.
Our microgreens are carefully grown using quality seeds, clean hydroponic practices, and absolutely no sprays or harsh chemicals. Every tray is hand-seeded, nurtured daily, and harvested fresh to order for maximum flavor, beauty, and nutrition.

Outside, our garden beds are filled with an abundance of seasonal vegetables, culinary herbs, flowers, and berries. We’ve intentionally surrounded our gardens with pollinator-friendly flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects — helping create a thriving, balanced ecosystem right here on our small coastal farm.
From peppery radish and arugula to delicate broccoli and vibrant red cabbage, we love growing food that brings color, flavor, and freshness to every meal. Around here, we like to call microgreens “veggie confetti” — tiny greens that make a big impact.
What Are Micro Greens?
Often called “veggie confetti,” these vibrant greens are loved by home cooks and chefs alike for the fresh flavor and beauty they bring to everyday meals. Microgreens are young vegetable and herb plants harvested at an early stage — small in size but packed with flavor, texture, color, and nutrition.
FRESH VERSATILITY
Why Use Micro Greens
Microgreens may be small, but they pack big flavor, vibrant color, and fresh versatility into everyday meals. Harvested young and enjoyed fresh, they offer tender texture and concentrated nutrition that can elevate everything from simple lunches to chef-inspired dishes. Research suggests microgreens may contain higher concentrations of vitamins, minerals, and beneficial plant compounds than their mature vegetable counterparts. With a wide range of flavor profiles—from mild and sweet to bold, peppery, and earthy—there’s a variety for everyone to enjoy.

- Basil — sweet and aromatic
- Radish — crisp and peppery

ABOUT US
Our Story
Founded by Jane Fiedler and her son, Noah, Coastal Harvest Micro Farm grew out of years of coastal gardening, first in coastal Virginia and now for more than a decade here on North Carolina’s beautiful Outer Banks. What began as our passion for growing seasonal vegetables, herbs, and flowers in backyard raised beds has naturally evolved into cultivating fresh, nutrient-dense microgreens grown indoors using clean hydroponic methods.
Our greens and herbs are harvested fresh and delivered locally to restaurants, markets, small businesses, and families whenever possible. By growing locally, we are able to provide fresher products with less travel time, less waste, and more flavor.
Nothing matters more to us than knowing our food is clean and safe for the people we love. My greatest joy is knowing that my granddaughter can walk through the garden, pick a tomato, herb, berry, or flower, and eat it immediately — without worry about chemicals or sprays.
To us, growing food is more than farming. It is a way of living with purpose, mindfulness, and respect for both our health and the land.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy has always been simple: food should nourish, heal, and sustain us. We believe in using food as medicine, and that belief is at the heart of everything we grow.
Microgreens are a perfect example of this philosophy. Their incredible nutrient density allows even the smallest greens to provide powerful health benefits, bringing vibrant flavor and nourishment to everyday meals.
At Coastal Harvest Micro Farm, all of our vegetables, herbs, flowers, and microgreens are grown spray-free and with intention. We do not use synthetic fertilizers or chemical pest control methods. Instead, we focus on healthy soil, natural growing practices, patience, and discipline — working with nature rather than against it.
We are deeply inspired by the principles of the world’s “Blue Zones,” where people live long, healthy lives through fresh food, movement, connection, and simple daily habits rooted in nature. Gardening itself is part of that natural therapy. It teaches us to slow down, to care for the earth, and to appreciate the process of growth.
